We aim to create an amazing educational resource, where people can come to learn about sustainability and nutrition, receive food preparation training, and even see food growing in the field: all in one great location.
It is important that the next generation gains a firm understanding of where food comes from and the issues that face the food industry, and is equipped with the knowledge to make healthy and more sustainable dietary choices.
A typical field trip to the Food Hub might see a class of children from a local school divided into three groups, the first of which will be able to witness food production in the field, while another visits the classroom to learn about sustainability and nutrition and the third group visits the training kitchen to get some hands-on food preparation experience. These resources will also be available to young adults and food industry professionals so this knowledge can permeate into the mainstream food industry. Cookery workshops will also be provided for anyone with a love of food.
