Small Businesses

We will provide small businesses and start-ups the space, facilities and opportunity to do what they do best.

Cambridge has a rich community of small food producers and entrepreneurs who are passionate about what they do and have some great ideas. However, the high cost of commercial property in Cambridge has been identified as a barrier to new food businesses starting up.

The Food Hub will include commercial incubator kitchen units which will be available to small businesses and start ups at affordable rates and flexible terms. Not only will the Food Hub be offering small businesses favourable lease agreements, they will also have access to many additional benefits. The collaborative working space will be a fertile environment for the generation of new ideas. Start ups will benefit from access to suppliers and markets, shared distribution and marketing and mentors will be on hand to help with all aspects of business management. Enterprises will even have access to finance from a fund made up of profits from the community interest company. The Food Hub will be a working environment that promotes health and well-being for employees. Living Wage accreditation will be a requirement of all Food Hub businesses.
